Bitcoin Goes Big League

Bitcoin Goes Big League

Bitcoin has been front and centre in a recent Premier League match between Watford and Arsenal.

The popularity of this match can be shown by BBC live reporting it on Sunday with most football fans probably seeing the bitcoin logo on Watford players’ shoulders.

The attendance appears to have been some 60,000 sports fans with the match ending in a 2-2 draw.

The advert was the result of a sponsorship by Sportsbet, a bitcoin football betting site by Coingaming which also runs Bitcasino, the first bitcoin licensed casino.

As it stands, it does not look like Watford has much of a chance of winning the Premier League, but they are to play Manchester United on Saturday as well as Liverpool later on.

Man U and Liverpool both have huge following, with Watford to play against them and other likely League winners quite a few times.

This is the first time bitcoin is being advertised so prominently in the United Kingdom and arguably much of Europe which does follow the Premier League.

In fact, this may be the most prominent crypto advert since bitcoin’s invention in 2009 as some bitcoin related companies now enjoy sufficient revenue to go big screen.
