Malta Blockchain Summit Event Kicks Off on the Notorious Crypto Island

One of the year’s biggest blockchain summits is currently holding in Malta. It promises to be an event packed with some of the most outstanding speakers and facilitators in the blockchain sector and other related industries.

With over 5,000 delegates in attendance, this is arguably one of the best attended blockchain events of 2018. This event is pivotal for Malta’s relevance in the world, and put them on the global stage, particularly when it comes to blockchain technology.

In fact, Malta has been recently referred to as the Blockchain Island. Why? Well, according to the Eman Pulis, Malta has put in the work and has made itself the de facto country of choice for all crypto based startups and companies.

Not just that, the government has done a lot to help make Malta a very conducive environment for all crypto based startups as well as passed regulatory bills that will foster blockchain based innovative solutions.

These legislations has resulted in investor confidence among crypto and blockchain companies that have long been looking for countries with favorable business environment and policies, out of which they can run their operations.

Blockchain companies already resident in Malta and those looking to are encouraged by the welcoming environment that the government has put in place. This is not surprising seeing as the government itself is looking to utilize blockchain for some of its key governance processes.

Malta also appears to be interested in sports, a move that has seen some gaming companies paying preliminary visits to the island to examine its business climate. The government in particular, has created policies and legislation that’s meant to help attract more esports investors and encourage the relocation of esports companies to the country.

The current Malta Blockchain Summit is another effort at getting more blockchain investors into the country in the bid to get them to set up offices. One of most notable sessions is one with the artificial intelligence powered humanoid robot called Sophia.

Sophia is currently the world’s most popular robot and has been given the first ever United Nation Innovation Champion award by the United Nations Development Program.

Other notable events during the Malta Blockchain Summit include a Hackathon between sixteen different blockchain teams, ICO pitching, a cruise and a Blockchain Awards ceremony.
