Forbes Launches Crypto Data Aggregator Portal

There is a new Coinmarketcap-like portal, this one carrying the Forbes brand name. The site displays the largest crypto coins, exchanges, and several relevant indices.

NewCity Digital and Forbes Media announced on Monday the launch of Forbes CryptoMarkets, a data-oriented portal focused on cryptocurrencies. The website, which uses the Forbes brand name, is currently in beta mode.

The project has been developed in partnership with private investment company NewCity Capital and Swiss-based exchange trade.io. Forbes CryptoMarkets resembles the popular Coinmarketcap portal, but it also displays several indexes tracking different groups of cryptocurrencies.

The new portal, which went live on Monday, aggregates real-time prices and volume data for the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market cap. The plan is to have over 1,000 coins covered in the future.

In addition, the site features several crypto-related indices. As of today, it shows four Forbes CryptoMarkets indices, including Top 30 Global FB30, Top 10 Global FB10, Top Cryptocurrencies Global, and Top 10 Blockchain and DApps Global. As of 10:32 UTC on Wednesday, the first three indices were priced at about $1,030, while the last one was fluctuating at around $988. The instruments are offered as an informational tool only, at least at this early stage.

Crypto watchers can also find basic information about the 31 largest crypto exchanges covered by the portal, including Binance, Bitmex, OKEx, Huobi, Bitfinex, and Coinbase Pro.

On the right, users will find content from top cryptocurrency-oriented news agencies, including sites owned by Forbes.

Chien Lee, chairman of NewCity Capital and Forbes CryptoMarkets, commented:

“We are excited to partner with Forbes to create a trusted source for those seeking information on the new digital economy, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, cryptocurrencies, tokens and the companies underlying them. Forbes CryptoMarkets will be the definitive resource for everything crypto and blockchain.”

Forbes Media CEO Mike Federle stated:

“Forbes CryptoMarkets, a new licensed business, represents a natural extension of our powerful brand into a new venture that promises to deliver immense value to investors, traders and market watchers.”

Trade.io CEO Jim Preissler, who is also executive director of Forbes CryptoMarkets, added:

“We plan to continue to grow the platform to include all aspects of the industry, such as related investment funds, ICO information and other relevant data.”

In the future, Forbes CryptoMarkets will become available in seven languages, including English, Russian, Chinese, French, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese.
