Craig Wright Keeps Slamming Bitcoin ABC Vision for Scaling Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

Dr. Craig Wright, never tiring of defending Bitcoin’s principles, once again revealed his discontent with the Bitcoin ABC team behind the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) protocol. Wright has been known for stating that Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin (BTC), hence his disapproval of plans for radical changes, especially when it comes to scaling solutions such as large blocks, pre-consensus, or one-minute blocks.

Such changes, if applied, would alter Bitcoin Cash beyond recognition from its original shape, based on the Bitcoin protocol. The paradox is, some believe a changed Bitcoin Cash network would be the true vision, finally achieving the technical solution to electronic cash.

The new bout of Wright attacks started after Bitcoin ABC published another blog on its vision to evolve the Bitcoin Cash network:

In his tweets, Wright has suggested that Bitcoin Cash may go through a process in which not all nodes run the same versions, similar to how Bitcoin node operators and miners would signal different versions. It is unknown if this would lead to a hard fork moment for Bitcoin Cash.

Wright’s replies include both technical comments, but also outright attacks against Bitcoin ABC and Jihan Wu, whom he sees as a manipulator of Bitcoin Cash, attempting to alter the coin’s features beyond recognition:

The split in the Bitcoin Cash community has been tracked by the Magical Crypto Friends, a group of four prominent commenters that see BCH as potentially less successful. WhalePanda pointed out one of Wright’s tweets suggesting corruption practices between Jihan Wu, founder of Bitmain, and the Bitcoin ABC Developers:

But the real effect for Bitcoin Cash will be seen after the hard fork and the implementation of the code changes, planned for this November. Wright believes this may be problematic:

Wright’s attacks come at a time when the crypto community around Bitcoin Cash is also mystified by the hard and fast code changes suggested. In the coming months, Bitcoin Cash may be in for some turbulent technical development, as the ambitious attempts to turn into digital cash see dramatic code changes. The involvement of Bitmain with the Bitcoin Cash project is also seen as a point of contention, with supposedly too much influence from one entity. In theory, Bitcoin Cash should be a decentralized system, but some see Bitmain as influencing the course of action, through the Bitcoin ABC developer team.

In the meantime, the real-world usage and market price for BCH remain depressed, with less than 30,000 transactions in 24 hours. Still, BCH is among the most used coins. As at 11:17 UTC, BCH trades at $534.12, down 5.1% on a daily basis, according to CoinMarketCap data.
