Infinito is the second wallet that supports the coin after Daedalus, the ADA-specialized desktop wallet developed by Cardano team. Infinito users are already enabled to receive, send, and check transaction information of ADA.
The cryptocurrency is part of the wallet’s new features of its 1.15.0 update. Currently, Infinito supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Dash (DASH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), NEO (NEO), EOS (EOS), and Dogecoin (DOGE) as well as several tokens that use Ethereum’s ERC20 standard, NEO’s NEP-5, and the EOS blockchain.
“With IOHK’s permission and support, Infinito has contributed code to the open source Cardano Rust project for ADA mobile wallet integration,” the wallet team explained in a blog post.
Infinito had integrated two products of Cardano, Prometheus and Icarus, in the wallet’s new version design, and thus made ADA available on its platform. The company plans to back some of Cardano’s blockchain features like the new proof-of-stake algorithm, called Ourobros.
The wallet’s ADA support is part of the coin’s first anniversary, Charles Hoskinson, the chief executive officer of IOHK, revealed earlier this week in a video post from Japan. The Asian country will be the center of the events for Cardano’s first birthday, which will be celebrated on September 29.
Around 24 hours after Infinito’s announcement, it seemed that the move did not affect the Cardano price. As at 11:35 UTC on Thursday, the coin changed hands at $0.079 for one ADA, down 1.5% on a daily basis. The cryptocurrency clocked $55 million in trading volume for the last day, with Binance ranking as the largest ADA market. The exchange’s Cardano pairs with Tether (USDT), Bitcoin, and Ethereum accounted for a volume of nearly $30 million.
Currently, Cardano is the ninth cryptocurrency by market capitalization with more than $2 billion in value.
