Tether Network stalls: Omni Investigates

Tether transactions have dropped sharply, with the last transaction occurring several hours ago.  The news was reported on Twitter as Binance’s hot wallet has been showing pages of transactions that have been stuck in an “unconfirmed” status for over 8 hours (!). Along with Binance, also Huobi, Bitfinex and Poloniex all stopped getting confirmed transactions after 06:31:51 UTC.

Omni layer (the protocol from which Tether tokens are issued) posted updates on the situation:

We are experiencing an issue with the parsing engine that feeds data to Omniexplorer and Omniwallet. It is being investigated. Please stay tuned to our main Twitter for updates. — Omni (@Omni_Layer) September 17, 2018

For it now it looks that the situation is set to be resolved, according to Omni. However, any major issue regarding Tether transactions is always a cause for concern.
