Is Bitmex Killing Crypto?

Bitmex has become slowly but surely the most widely used exchange to trade bitcoin (even though it isnt really bitcoin...). That, in my opinion, is bad for the crypto space. It has played a hand in killing the volatility, leaving us at the mercy of bots and leading many retail noobs to lose a lot of money on the platform. How can we fix this? What should we do?
