Verge [XVG] development update: Code rebasing underway

Verge [XVG] a decentralized open-source cryptocurrency platform that offers anonymous transactions, has released their latest development update on their official Twitter handle. The team speaks about their work on Insight API clients, road map of upcoming wallets, progress on the iOS wallet, progress on the ledger and more.

In this week’s update, the team stated that they have created separate packages for the Insight API client to give developers the option of choosing the language of their choice. The Insight API is offered in three different versions TypeScript Insight API Client, Swift Insight API Client and Java Insight API Client.

The team revealed that multiple wallets were in progress, namely, iOS Wallet, Electron, and the QT Wallet [with a new codebase].

Verge’s desktop wallet has now been integrated with the newly developed Insight API clients. The team is working on rounding off some minor issues in the new desktop wallet. Team also stated that it is waiting for the new codebase since the desktop wallet has been built on the currently used codebase.

Verge team mentioned that their most anticipated wallet for iOS has been undergoing a smooth development phase. The team is currently working on creating views and once it is done they will be focusing on the back end of the app. The Swift Insight API is being used with the blockchain to create the wallet on the iPhone or iPad.

The team said that the Android Wallet upgrade will not be a priority this year and it is on the company’s roadmap as a project for 2019.

The team has developed a prototype to integrate Verge into a Ledger Nano S. They said:

“Our team has developed a prototype, proving we can integrate Verge into a Ledger Nano S. We are currently considering different possibilities for more security features. We also are relying on Ledger HQ to integrate our code into their product.”

The team is undergoing a code-base revision from Bitcoin Core v13.0.0 to the latest version available. Summarizing in brief the team stated that the customers will be able to enjoy considerable improvements in the performance of the blockchain, chain validation, chain security, and CPU.

“The marketing team went from having a slight lack of consistency and professionalism to doing weekly updates and keeping us informed of EVERY step of the way. Absolutely amazing #xvg’s team has grown faster and is now a lot more efficient than most cryptocurrencies. Keep at it!!”

Twitterati Will, aka Dabbie said:

“Well done. Looks great. I will always stand by the entire #VergeCurrency and $XVG team. Great developments as we move towards #MassAdoption of #cryptocurrency. “
