How the XRP Community helped and supported one of its members through a dark time

The XRP community on Twitter is hailed as being one of the most engaging and informative communities on the site. However, recent events have emerged that only serve to strengthen one’s faith in it.

User Paul Oliver on Twitter at the handle @gizimos2016 recently revealed to the community that he would be selling all his XRP to fund his operation. Yesterday, he broke the news of this to the XRP community when he tweeted:

“I feel bad about being in the XRP community at the moment I’ve had to sell off all my XRP to pay for my operations but my health was more important I just hope the price stays down a bit longer so I can at least build some back up”

The community responded with wishes for him, along with offering him tips through the XRP Tip Bot to help him rebuild his investment. One of these was user James Malpass said to him:

“Paul you are welcome in this community no matter if you have 10,000 xrp or just 1. I hope your health is getting better +1 @xrptipbot and here is one to help you start banking back up.”

He went on to say:

“Keep your head up brother. Your health is more important. There is plenty of time to get back in and see profits. First make sure that you are ok so that you can enjoy the profits.”

User Amy extended her wishes to Oliver as well, stating:

“You gotta do what you gotta do. All of us go thru tough times and a lot of us have had to sell some to stay above water. Hope you get back on your feet very soon! +5 @xrptipbot”

AMBCrypto reached out to Paul Oliver on Twitter to know more about the story. He revealed his experience with XRP and investments. He said:

“Basically, at the start of the year, I was looking for a way that I could get extra money together so I could afford to have an operation on my mouth so that I can eat normally again. I did some research and found Ripple and then XRP.”

Following this, he began to invest in XRP on a regular basis, around once a fortnight. However, there were more sinister things in store. He said:

“Unfortunately my mouth got worse quicker then the price of XRP raised and after holding out as long as I could I was getting too skinny and had enough XRP to cover my operation. I just draw it all out last week and went in and got it done.”

His situation was further made worse, as he revealed that he does not have any family and that he would “never dream of asking anyone for help”. The situation led to him being backed into a corner where his only choice was to sell his XRP if he wanted to do it on his own.

After he spoke about his situation on Twitter, he saw the response that the XRP community gave him. He said:

“I’m so grateful to the XRP community for all their wishes to me. I was shocked at how many people cared when I had said I had to sell my XRP. They are all so kind it makes me feel a lot better about having to rebuild.”

In response to the good wishes he received, he stated:

“I can’t thank the XRP community enough for there support they are truly a special breed.”
