Enjin Coin [ENJ] teams up with Samsung for Galaxy S10; ENJ pumps by 70%

After weeks of uncertainty, the gaming-centric cryptocurrency, Enjin [ENJ], finally confirmed its partnership with South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, for the upcoming Galaxy S10.

At the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, it was revealed that the new Galaxy S10 would be powered by Samsung Knox and store private keys to digital assets. This led to many crypto-enthusiasts claiming that the device would also have in-built support Bitcoin [BTC] and Ethereum [ETH] wallets.

While revealing the Blockchain Keystore at the MWC, Enjin’s crypto-gaming interface was also revealed, confirming many people’s speculation of a partnership between the two companies.

Enjin has been described by many as a perfect fit for a smartphone that wants to push boundaries, not only in terms of the device’s gaming performance, but also with respect to blockchain and DApps features. Enjin was initially rumored to be cooperating with Samsung for games and services accessible through the Galaxy Store. Furthermore, Enjin can also be used to send and receive ERC-20 tokens and ERC-1155 crypto-game assets, and trade between characters.

In a YouTube video that emerged later, it was also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S10 only provided support for Ethereum and not for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies. Despite showing the Bitcoin logo, the Korean version of the device only showed Ethereum transaction information.

Following this confirmation, Enjin coin saw a massive spike in its price. Since the partnership was speculated a week ago, the coin’s trading price surged from $0.03 to $0.103. The coin jumped by a whopping 91.91 percent to reach $0.191, within four hours.

The coin’s market cap also shot up to $130.97 million, its highest point since May 2018. In the past week, the coin’s market cap increased by a massive 150.68 percent. At press time, the coin gained against the US dollar by 71.29 percent.

Binance took the top spot in terms of EJN trading volume, accounting for $63.68 million of the coin’s global volume via the ENJ/BTC trading pair.

Enjin recently also announced its partnership with Unity Technologies, enabling the addition of Enjin’s Blockchain Software Development Kit [SDK] to Unity Asset Store. This SDK will allow developers and gamers to create and work with their own ERC-1155 tokens.
