Bitcoin [BTC]’s speculative discussions are nonsense, says Bitcoin Cash [BCH] proponent Roger Ver

The roller-coaster that the cryptocurrency market has been on does not seem to be stopping with the bear and the bullfighting it out for the ultimate prize. Last week’s main focus of the cryptocurrency market was on the Bitcoin Cash [BCH] hard fork that saw the cryptocurrency split into two different tokens, the Bitcoin Cash ABC and the Bitcoin Cash SV.

In a recent interview conducted by Roger Ver on Bitcoin.com, the Bitcoin Cash proponent spoke about the updates on the hard fork front as well as the adoption of Bitcoin Cash by other parties. Ver stated that a majority of the cryptocurrency exchanges, including the likes of Coinbase, Kraken, and Bitpay, have all accepted Bitcoin Cash ABC as Bitcoin Cash.

He added that the ticker symbol for the ABC implementation has been changed to BCH while Bitcoin Cash SV has been listed as a separate token. In his words:

“We are happy to announce the vast acceptance of Bitcoin ABC by the public. Great to hear Coinbase and Kraken and Bitcoin.com obviously choosing ABC as the real Bitcoin Cash.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Bitcoin.com also spoke about the recent market crash that caused Bitcoin to fall below the $4,000-barrier. He commented that the drop is natural and the price point shouldn’t really matter to actual users. According to him, the main use case of a cryptocurrency should be the way it helps in moving the economy. He added:

“All this speculative stuff about cryptocurrencies is nonsense. The entire point of cryptocurrencies is for more people to use it in commerce.”

Roger Ver also touched upon some of the use cases that have been possible due to Bitcoin Cash. One example pointed out by Ver was Badge Wallet, a fork of Metamask for BCH powered by Bitbox. Badger Wallet’s website states:

“Badger is a secure identity vault for Bitcoin Cash. It allows you to hold BCH & tokens, and serves as your bridge to decentralized applications (dapps).”

Ver was also in the news recently when he had stated:

“Right from the opening bell, the Bitcoin ABC implementation of Bitcoin cash had substantially more hash rate than the Bitcoin SV implementation of Bitcoin cash, and already way more proof of work has been done on top of the Bitcoin ABC version of Bitcoin cash than the Bitcoin SV version.”
