Why do we build? How will blockchain technology change society?

We are building the technology that will create a more just and fair global economy - one that will give access to more people and will level the economic playing field through the power of blockchain technology. This is our mission - but our success is not a given. Our intentions will necessarily live on through the governance structures that enforce our values. Irrespective of the immense technological potential of blockchain technology, at this critical point in our story, how we build and who we let build will be decisive in determining how our values live on and impact tomorrow’s users. All pioneers have blindspots. This keynote explores lessons of legal history that will help us to avoid the pitfalls of our own blindspots.
