Cardano [ADA] releases another round of technical advancements over the past week

On 31st August, the official Twitter handle of Cardano’s parent company, Input-Output Hong Kong [IOHK] posted the official weekly progress report of the project. In this report, updates on Daedalus Wallet, its API and backend, among other things are mentioned.

Over last week, all the work required for the release of Daedalus 0.11.1 and Cardano 1.3.1 was completed by the team. Of late, an error was found in Daedalus where it could not start if one entered a username containing non-ASCII characters on the Windows. ASCII [American Standard Code for Information Interchange] is a character encoding standard for electronic communication. In the update, the team was able to fix this issue for its users.

However, the work to integrate the V1 Cardano wallet API is still going on with an added task to integrate the React-Polymorph infinite scroll feature. This new feature will assist the users in browsing through the list of transactions on the wallet.

Another issue with ThemeProvider was found wherein the React-Polymorph framework was facing glitch due to the problems in dynamic theming. As of this week, the issue was successfully fixed by the team. A Storybook story was also an addition to provide a demonstration of the dynamic theme switcher.

Next, the report explained the developments taken place in the wallet backend across the week. Here, it was mentioned that REST handlers were implemented to support node settings and info, as the optimization of the wallet synchronization and stability was the main focus of the team. The database was also refined in order to solidify the acid-state [Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability] from its core.

Regarding the fixes pushed by the team in the past week, IOHK also wrote:

“The developers finished all the entry points of TxMeta, fixed all fields and added some tests in addition the team worked on Safecopy by trying to find best ways to compute diffs between Maps and Sets, in a way that would allow the creation of a Checkpoint from a list of those diffs.”

A Twitter user and Cardano follower, Jötunn on the update commented:

“So looking forward to reading The Delegation e-print.”

Another Reddit user and cryptocurrency follower, akahodLer2 wrote:

“cardano has shown what transparency is. they release the best update reports. most dedicated team in cryptocurrency space!!! keep up”
