Neo network now accessible on BSN, Neo Global Development publishes quick start guide

The Neo blockchain is now accessible via the Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) following its Global Portal launch in August 2020. Neo Global Development (NGD) has shared a step-by-step guide for starting a project on the network, which allows users to integrate with Neo nodes on both MainNet and TestNet.

Neo is currently available via three Public City Nodes (PCN) located in Hong Kong, Paris, and California. These nodes are maintained by cloud service providers to offer services such as CPU, storage, and bandwidth. By connecting to a PCN, developers can launch a project and begin using resources.

Plans start out free for 2,000 daily requests, 10 transactions per second, and three projects, through to an Enterprise plan for $500 a month, offering 1,500,000 daily requests, 100 transactions per second, and 100 projects. Custom plans are also available for users with larger needs.

Neo and BSN AMA

NGD and BSN will host an ask me anything (AMA) session on the r/Neo subReddit from 9:00 pm (UTC +8) August 27th, through 9:00 pm (UTC +8) August, 28th.

Participants include NGD Ecosystem Growth director, John Wang, and CEO of Red Date Technology and managing director of BSN development association, He Yifan.

Community members are encouraged to begin suggesting questions in the Twitter announcement thread of the AMA.

About BSN

Neo and BSN announced their partnership in July 2020, where Neo was among the first batch of public blockchain platforms to partner with the blockchain network. The BSN is a “cross-cloud, cross-portal, cross-framework global public infrastructure network used to deploy and operate all types of blockchain applications. [It is] formed by the connection of all cloud resources and data centers using a set of blockchain operating environment protocols.”

Compared to its market competition, BSN claims to reduce operating costs for blockchain applications by 80%, to approximately US $150 – $300 a year. Further, the network aims to lower entry barriers for dApp development by minimizing the need to learn specific blockchain-related programming languages.

The BSN is part of China’s national initiative designed to boost the integration and adoption of blockchain in enterprise, small business, and local government.
