Layer2 Design Patterns by Beltran Berrocal

This presentation is an accelerated dive into the usability patterns of Layer2 solutions, and what we've learned from interviewing developers and some user research.

This talk will allow you to quickly learn about those Layer2 UX patterns in one session, learning about the differences between the UX mechanics of payment channels, Plasma, State Channels, Generalized State Channels and more, what are their pros and cons, what are the open design problems and challenges of this space that you could tackle, and ultimately accelerating your knowledge of Layer 2 solutions

Why:
We can’t wait for ETH2.0 to start talking and interacting with users! And even then, the sharded blockchain will still have some of the current UX problems.
Layer2 solutions instead are practically mature, production-ready and, in some cases, offer today experiences that are comparable with web2 apps, enable thousands of micro-txs per second, are virtually free, but still have the security of the decentralized Layer1 blockchain. Layer2 holds the promise to onboard the next wave of users.

However, L2 solutions create their own new UX flows and complicated patterns, and as we will see...there is still a lot of work to do.
