The promise of distributed ledger technologies / blockchain

Distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) and blockchains have attracted a lot of attention in recent years, which is why we’re taking a closer look at them in this expert talk. What are their maturity levels and the general understanding of the market? In our own research and co-creation projects with DLT and blockchain, we have identified use cases and associated advantages for the industry. One of these projects is IOTA, which we also present in our Industry 4.0 showcase. We demonstrate how IOTA can be used to track component and process data as part of supply chain management and how it can be stored unalterably in the IOTA Tangle – for example, as proof of original components or for warranty management.

Digital Annealer in the automotive industry: Entering the new era of quantum-inspired computing by co-creation of beneficial industry use cases with Fujitsu

Quantum computing is nothing new in theory. For decades, universities and laboratories have been calculating the expected exponential improvement in data optimisation. With the introduction of Digital Annealing, we can now prove the benefits of this technology in real proofs of concept. For example, do you need to optimise the routes of your autonomous vehicles in real time and according to special safety aspects – whether for test drives or for logistics services? Then we invite you to exchange ideas on data optimisation with our experts based on the example of existing use cases.

From acoustic design to shop floor optimisation: Digital Annealer in Industry 4.0

With certain requirements, quantum computers are indescribably faster than traditional computers. Inspired by quantum computing, the Fujitsu Digital Annealer is an ideal platform for the development, testing and initial application of the new optimisation algorithms. In this expert talk, we present use cases from the cooperation with our customer Volkswagen. Learn how the Digital Annealer helps reduce sound emissions for improved driving comfort. Or how it contributes to the optimisation of battery research in the field of e-mobility, and to machine utilisation in series production. In the expert talk, we also offer an introduction to the principles and possibilities of this technology.

The smart factory and the evolution towards Industry 4.0

Steam was the enabling technology of the first Industrial Revolution, electricity of the second and electronics of the third. The Internet of Things (IoT) will be the enabling technology of the fourth Industrial Revolution, revolutionising automation and data exchange in manufacturing. In a hyper-connected world, digital twins, supply chain transparency and predictive maintenance are just a few examples of productivity gains. In this session, our experts discuss how co-creation contributes to industrial value creation and provide insights into the digital transformation of our own factories.

Real-Time Intelligent Connected Enterprise (RICE) enabling organisations to meet end-to-end business challenges – SMART CONNECTED SERVICES

Today’s businesses are not seeking standalone solutions but an integrated real-time capability that improves end-to-end business outcomes. An example: With a stock level of more than one billion euros, a 10 percent improvement would already mean savings of 100 million euros. Fujitsu’s Real-Time Intelligent Connected Enterprise (RICE) allows the integration of various core business areas, such as the supply chain, root cause analyses, predictive maintenance, resolution of complex logistics and process optimisation for the resumption of production. RICE integrates reusable components into an extremely robust and scalable framework. Learn more about the integrated approach with RICE in this expert talk.

How to digitise your business with RFID

Why does RFID remain the “shooting star” despite many new location technologies? This session playfully explores why RFID continues to be the bedrock of many industries’ IoT efforts, including Industry 4.0, retail and aviation. In this session, you’ll learn from GlobeRanger’s experience to deploy production solutions via our six rules for maximising business value from your deployment.

What is the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of manufacturing quality control?

In this session, we will discuss recent use cases in the area of Fujitsu Advanced Image Recognition (FAIR) to demonstrate the application of AI in manufacturing quality assurance. You’ll gain insight into how manufacturing companies achieve both higher efficiency and significantly improved product quality with FAIR.

One ID – with biometric authentication

Access to specific systems and processes – whether production lines or sensitive equipment such as X-ray machines – is tied to people with the necessary training and competence. That’s why many production processes require secure and easy-to-verify user identification that is simple to carry out – even in complex ecosystems across company boundaries. The Fujitsu One ID approach offers convenient biometric two-factor authentication – for example, with face recognition for pre-authentication, followed by a highly secure hand vein scan. In this expert talk, we provide an overview of the technology and fields of application and discuss questions and possible scenarios for your company.

Smart factory – bridging the gap between IT and OT and managing shop floor data mining in an efficient and secure way

Intelligent factories go beyond the mere automation of production processes. The smart factory is a connected system that controls itself nearly autonomously: Processes optimise themselves, adapt to new conditions in real or near-real time and learn from them. Data is the heart and soul of the smart factory. But where does the data come from? How can the convergence between IT and OT be implemented safely and efficiently? How can brownfield infrastructures be fully integrated? Our experts will discuss this with you and show you how Advanced Condition and Location Monitoring from Fujitsu supports the digitisation of systems and mobile assets in manufacturing. Learn how to create the basic prerequisites for networked manufacturing and a smart factory.

Robotic Process Automation – The new colleague is virtual

Software robots herald the next wave of automation in business. With Robotic Process Automation, virtual colleagues take on lower-level, repetitive tasks and accelerate and improve internal processes. Employees can then concentrate on more creative and high-quality tasks. In this expert talk, we discuss the “art of the possible”: Where can you start with RPA and how does the introduction of this exciting new technology work?

AI in manufacturing: Experience more from a real shop floor optimisation at our factory in Augsburg

Artificial intelligence, IoT and smart manufacturing are catchwords that haunt all production sites. We offer practical experience and proven process models from our own production in Augsburg in order to improve the runtime along production lines, accelerate the start of series production and detect series faults early on. In this session, gain valuable insights and join us in exploring how we can help you with a proof of concept.

Fujitsu Glovia ERP solution for manufacturers

With Fujitsu Glovia, we help you to digitise processes and integrate suppliers and customers. In this session, you’ll learn how to manage your factory operations and planning with Fujitsu Factory Planning, a visual tool that provides a 360-degree view of your factory. Get to know our Fujitsu Shopfloor Disposition to make your factory paperless. All this and more in our expert talk.
