Spanish town of Marbella introduces its own cryptocurrency on MarbellaChain

The City of Marbella on Spain’s southern coast already has its own cryptocurrency, MarbellaCoin. The initiative, promoted by Marbella´s Blockchain Cultural Association, is framed within a series of actions related to blockchain technology and aims to get closer to the citizens of the town.

The fact that a city with the weight of Marbella has its own blockchain is of special importance, since it unites three fundamental areas. The first, as mentioned, their own cryptocurrency, which the Asociación Cultural Blockchain Marbella believes will allow the city to boost domestic trade.

The second aspect the Marbella´s Blockchain Cultural Association wants to highlight is that the Marbella blockchain provides for the implementation of dapps (decentralized applications), which are executed autonomously, storing data within the blockchain and operating according to the established parameters.

Further, MarbellaChain will promote and consolidate smart contracts, digital agreements between two or more parties for goods, services or any imaginable aspect. Once all the requirements are met, it is automatically settled and the parties receive the previously agreed upon. The Marbella Blockchain Association believes this is an incentive to strengthen the security of customers on a day-to-day basis.

MarbellaChain is an open platform of intelligent governance, aimed at promoting the development of blockchain technology, its relationship with cryptocurrencies, the world of intelligent contracts and decentralized applications within smart cities, and aims to put Marbella at the forefront of new technologies.

The 1% of the total supply has been pre-mined, the distribution of which has occurred as follows: 0.5% for the 79 associates of the Blockchain Marbella Cultural Association and 0.5% for rewards and free distribution in an online faucet.
