Pornhub subsidiary Tube8 collaborates with Vice Industry Token [VIT]; users “Get paid to Watch Porn”

Tube8, an adult entertainment streaming service and a subsidiary of Pornhub, has announced that they want to reward people with cryptocurrency, during an exclusive interview with Hard Fork. The adult entertainment portal has partnered with Vice Industry Token [VIT] that will enable the platform to be completely tokenized.

Vice Industry Token [VIT]’s inception was to reward users for consuming information online. This enables users to earn from free content. The main slogan the token goes by is “Get paid to Watch Porn”. This would be one of the biggest collaboration for Vice Industry Token.

The adult entertainment industry has over 10 million registered users and 150 million monthly visits. The platform is looking for ways to incentivize its viewers with cryptocurrency for streaming and interacting by the end of this year.  If this succeeds, Tube8 would become the first adult portal which will be offering cryptocurrency as rewards. Moreover, this would also be the first time a viewer will get paid for watching and being active on an adult entertainment portal.

Robin Turner, a spokesperson of Tube8 during the interview stated:

“… getting paid to watch porn was always a pipedream; one that was always dreamed about, but never fully realized … however, with the introduction of VIT, we are marking a paradigm shift in how people consume adult entertainment.”

He further added that the platform’s users will be paid for consuming their free content and that the more they interact with their videos, the reward will also increase. The platform has not revealed the details regarding the calculation of the crypto-rewards. However, the platform will be setting limits in order to prevent the platform from being used by the users for profits.

Robin said that there will be no extra fees but they are hoping that both Tube8 and VIT will be able to benefit from the collaboration in terms of increasing their user base and engagement.

On the reason behind choosing VIT, he said:

“It is the only cryptocurrency that is designed specifically for tokenizing and rewarding viewers of free content on tube sites… Anyone can earn VIT and anyone can buy VIT.”

However, this is not the first time the porn industry is collaborating with a cryptocurrency for payments. Recently, Pornhub, one of the largest pornographic site, partnered with Verge [XVG] and Tron [TRX]. Pornhub is accepting these cryptocurrencies as payments from its users. Additionally, the announcement of the partnership had a huge effect on the coins as well, with some supporting the collaboration and some against it.
