Lisk [LSK] update, migration of Core 1.0 to Mainnet milestone on 29th August 2018

On 15th August, Lisk, made an announcement on their official Twitter page, that the migration of Lisk Core 1.o to Mainnet will be taking place on 29th August. Lisk is a platform that allows developers to deploy and develop their own blockchain and decentralized applications. In their official blog, Lisk stated that the migration will take place at a certain height.

Post August 29th, the Lisk Mainnet nodes will be upgraded to Lisk Core 1.0 from the old version, Lisk Core 0.9.16, they explained.

The blog further goes on to elaborate the importance of Lisk Core 1.0. The core has undergone over 8,000 commits and more than 1,000 issues were resolved with peer to peer reviews. The release will be the first one to include the company’s improvised Quality Assurance [QA] process. The Betanet testing phase lasted many months to obtain top quality code and stability, the company stated.

The blog further stated that all of its products have been aligned for compatibility with the core’s new API.

The company took into account various factors like resources, timeframes, buffers, possible missed blocks, exchanges, ecosystem alignment, and community in order to choose the right date for the migration of Lisk Core 1.0 to Mainnet. A script was later deployed to accurately analyze which block will be achieved around the chosen date.

Lisk also announced that a team of engineers will be assigned to administer and manage the migration which will take place on the forecasted date.

Earlier this month, Lisk announced on Twitter that their Testnet migration from Lisk Core 1.0.0-RC.1 to Lisk Core 1.0.0-RC.2 was a success. This will act as a success factor for the Mainnet release due in the upcoming days. And all the issues that existed in the Lisk Core 1.0.0-RC.1 were eliminated in Lisk Core 1.0.0-RC.2.
